Emily Bellhouse, glass artist, England. Emily creates contemporary wall mounted artworks, Images in Glass, by either embedding hundreds of photographs within glass or by melting layers of coloured glass together. She describes these pieces as visual narratives that are permanently captured in glass. Her previous body of work involved the installation of glass sculptures in unusual outdoor settings. As with Images in Glass, this work was created with a view to surprise the onlooker, evoke their curiosity and encourage them to engage directly with the piece.
